Smithville Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest

 Smithvilles Oktoberfest has become one of the best local traditions to welcome in the fall!
 October 7th and 8th 2023 from 10am-5pm

 Smithville presents over 100 juried crafters, an International food court, live music, kids activities, non-Profit organizations and more for Oktoberfest. All of this food and fun plus The Villages 60 Shoppes, Train and Carousel Rides, Paddle boats, 7 Eateries, and Antique Arcades!
 

Each year, the Historic Smithville Village becomes host to a giant celebration of authentic autumnal food, beer, and music.

The Village gets hopping with hundreds of visitors who are ready for Fall and fun.  In addition to the over 60 regular store fronts, the festival brings in an additional 100 vendors who set up shop in the parking lot. Filled with handmade crafts, clothing and jewelry there is something to please everyone . Throughout the village you will also find nonprofit organizations with raffles, information and items for sale. There are a lot of exciting kids activities such as the famous giant jumping house, duck pond game, and face painting!

Your plan for Oktoberfest Day:

 After filling up on our fabulous international food court it’s time for some fun and, of course, shopping. Let the kids show off their cool new face-paint or balloon animal.  Learn about the joys of adopting a Greyhound, have a family portrait done caricature-style, join the ducks in lake Meone on a paddleboat, or get a jump on some holiday shopping.

Oktoberfest in the Historic Smithville Village is a great time for the entire family–even the dog! No matter what style, hobby or interest, there’s something for everyone at this fun-filled autumn festival.   • Free Shuttle runs from 9:30am-5:30pm each day
  • The shuttle departs from the Smithville Shopping Center located on Moss Mill Rd.

We will be attending an event on Friday, October 13th, 2023, in the parking lot of the Blairstown Diner located at 53 Route 94 S, Blairstown, NJ. Come shop with lots of great vendors/crafters! The diner will have a Friday the 13th inspired menu. You can find Jason himself at the diner between 9:00 am – 2:30 pm. Then you might catch him chasing you down main street! Start your holiday season with the 46th Anniversary of the Hope Christmas Craft Market. The first weekend in December, Hope Township hosts an eclectic array of handcrafted artisan with talents ranging from homemade jams to wooden signs to alpaca woven apparel; there is something for everyone!

Explore six buildings full of holiday cheer! Be sure to visit Santa located in the Community Center for that special holiday photo. Don't miss out on entering to win a hand crafted Amish quilt! The proceeds of this event helps fund the Hope Township Recreation program which benefits greatly from the generosity of everyone who supports this amazing event. Only a $4.00 admission fee allows you to explore six buildings of amazing crafts, gifts, sweets, and more as well as providing a complimentary shuttle bus to every building.

The Hope Christmas Craft Market is a town wide event that offers 3 juried buildings the Hope Elementary School, Hope Grange, and Community Center with over 125 artisans. The St John Methodist Church, St. Luke and St. Mary Episcopal Church ,and the Hope Fire Department also host amazing non juried vendors.

Northern NJ Cat Show

Central Jersey Cat Fanciers will be having its twenty second TICA Annual cat show at the Sheraton Parsippany (199 Smith Road) in Parsippany, New Jersey on January 10-12, 2024. Show hours will be 3:00 PM-9:00 PM Friday, 9:30-5 on Saturday and 9-4 on Sunday. Price for admission is $12.00 adults, $10 seniors and veterans and active military, $9 children (4-12) and children under 4 for free.
An expected 180 cats will be present and competing at this show. Judging will take place in 7 different rings each day. This will be an opportunity to see many different breeds of cats including Abyssinians, American Shorthairs, British Shorthairs, Bengals, Sphynx, Maine Coons, Siamese, Oriental Shorthairs, Ragdolls, Persians,, Siberians, and many more breeds. There is also a special category for household pets and kittens, which need not be purebreds. Final awards will be presented in each category. People will be bringing their cats to compete from all over the country.
In addition to the cats and kittens, there will be many vendors selling gift items for you and your pet, scratching posts, cat trees, magazines, jewelry, toys as well as unusual items. There will also be food available at the hotel.
We have invited a rescue group, Angel Paws, to attend the show. They will be bringing homeless pets for adoption.
