Whisper is a lovable, mellow young Maine Coon mix. He came from a colony in PA, so we are not sure of exact age, but, as of the end of October, we figure he is around 7 months old. He has been in foster care since early September and has rapidly progressed from hiding under the bed to taking part in the household activities. He can still be skittish at times with loud noises and rapid movements, but instead of going into hiding, he just moves a few feet away. He allows himself to be petted and picked up about 50% of the time, but this is improving and he’s been seeking more attention and love every day. He particularly likes to be cuddled, petted and talked to while looking out the window at birds and squirrels. He allows himself to be kissed and does some head butts and purring while being held. When things quiet down around the house, he will sit beside you on the couch and he likes to sleep at your feet at night. He may be shy at first, but once he gets to know you and gains some confidence in his surroundings, he will make a great companion. Overall, he is a nice, sweet cat who blooms brighter every day. I would 100% keep him myself if my husband would allow it.

Playtime is his favorite (apart from breakfast, lunch and dinner) and he is quite athletic, but not overly rambunctious. He gets along great with other cats. He plays gently with the younger ones and does not mess with my grumpy older ones. He is definitely not trying to be an alpha cat. He has not met any dogs yet, but he is mellow, so he may find them acceptable. Our household is quiet, so that might be his thing, but he has progressed so much since September and is still young, so he may adjust to any household.

Most importantly, Whisper got his name because of his unique meow...or lack thereof! He sort of makes a puffing, soft hissing sound when he meows. So, if you are looking for a cat that will not make a lot of noise during a Zoom meeting, this is your guy!

Whisper's adoption fee is $125.00, he is fully vetted with vaccines, has combo tested negative and is neutered.
